Coyotes and Cupcakes: Gearing up for Opening Night

Yesterday was a big day on many levels for FOX Sports Arizona as it geared up for Opening Night with the Arizona Coyotes. From many different production efforts, a radio blitz with the FOX Sports Arizona Girls, social media and sales, everyone did their part to get the season off on a high note for the network.

Throughout the day, FOX Sports Arizona gave fans behind-the-scenes looks on Twitter at the production of “Countdown: Puck Drop” which is a show set to debut on Oct. 21 that follows four different people during the day to showcase what they did to get ready for Opening Night.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman will also be making a special appearance on the Countdown show as he was in town to meet with the team and was a 1st intermission guest on “Coyotes Live,” which debuted its new set location. FOX Sports Arizona also televised his 4 p.m. press conference live.

While the production team was at Gila River Arena, the FOX Sports Arizona Girls met up with seven different radio shows to deliver hockey-themed cupcakes and readied listeners for the Coyotes season opener.  Danielle, Mallory and Sarah had several on-air appearances and were all over Twitter and Facebook yesterday, with one radio host even changing his Twitter profile photo to a picture of him and the girls.
